Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first contact for patients at Mercy facilities. The role includes scheduling, registration, benefit verification, and financial clearance with attention to accuracy and patient data quality.

This float position covers Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus and Farmington, MO, working full-time days with premium pay for ED shifts. Requires HS diploma and 1–3 years clerical experience, especially with insurance plans.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with patients, physicians and staff.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Experience with insurance plans and terminology is preferred.

Responsabilités

• Facilitate patient entrance into Mercy facilities including scheduling, registration and pre-certification.
• Verify benefits and perform financial clearance including pre-visit collections.
• Ensure accurate patient data is entered into patient records.
• Act as mentor to fellow Patient Access co-workers.
