Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a Patient Access Registrar to staff multiple hospital entry points, including ED and outpatient services. Responsibilities include pre-registration, registration, insurance verification, and collecting patient information while navigating federal and state guidelines.

The role requires strong customer service, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and cross-training across registration points. Some positions require travel to multiple facilities.

Qualifications

• Experience in patient access, registration, billing, cash collection, insurance and/or pre-certification in a medical environment.
• One year Customer Service experience in any field, required.
• One year of clerical experience in medical office setting.

Responsibilities

• Process and enter patient demographic and financial information via multiple channels.
• Coordinate with insurance verification and financial counseling for authorizations.
• Explain and collect patient financial liability; process payments and deposits.
• Maintain documentation per federal/state regulations and Joint Commission.
• Reschedule appointments and assist with patient scheduling across facilities.
• Operate patient management system and adapt to care setting needs.
