Job summary

Mercy in Springfield, MO is seeking a Patient Access Lead to guide caregivers, monitor operations, and mentor the team. This role focuses on efficient Patient Access procedures, training staff, and identifying workflow improvements to support high-quality patient care.

The incumbent will collaborate with hospital leadership, communicate clearly with patients and clinicians, and adapt to changing priorities while upholding Mercy’s standards and compassion in patient financial engagement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preceptor training/experience post-hire preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with caregivers, patients, physicians and staff.
• Proficiency in Patient Access procedures and ability to discuss financial aspects with patients.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a resource to the Supervisor/Manager and guide caregivers.
• Monitor assigned area and mentor team members.
• Identify and implement workflow improvements.
• Provide training and ensure accurate daily operations in Patient Access.
• Adapt to changes and follow leadership direction.
