Job summary

Cogdell Memorial Hospital seeks a dedicated supervisor to oversee Admitting Department Clerks in the general Admitting Department, Outpatient, and Emergency Department areas. This role ensures smooth inpatients admissions and outpatient testing procedures.

You will liaise with the Nursing Supervisor, Business Office, and Environmental Services, contribute to performance improvement, and support a patient-centered admissions process.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or Bachelor degree preferred.
• Experience in hospital admitting or healthcare-related field preferred.
• Supervisory or management experience highly desired.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Proficient Microsoft Office skills a must.
• Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques.
• Additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all Admitting Department Clerks in the general Admitting Department area, Outpatient, and the Emergency Department Admitting areas.
• Maintain efficient and orderly admission of inpatients and admitting process of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedure.
• Maintain open communication with the Nursing Supervisor, Business Office, and Environmental Services.
• Participate in performance improvement and CQI activities.
