Job summary

PeaceHealth is seeking a Patient Access Representative Lead - Admitting for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The role includes pre-registering patients, verifying insurance, obtaining prior authorizations, and coordinating daily operations within the admitting area.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 1 year of Patient Access experience, and prior leadership experience is preferred. Strong knowledge of CPT/ICD coding and insurance processes is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and CPT/ICD coding is required.
• Knowledge of insurance processes and regulations is required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/Outlook) is preferred.
• Must manage conflicts professionally and meet deadlines.
• Strong time-management skills and excellent customer service are essential.

Responsibilities

• Pre-register patients with accurate demographic and financial data.
• Verify coverage and obtain prior authorizations as needed before arrival.
• Assist with scheduling, insurance verification, and pre-certification tasks.
• Serve as a resource for questions and troubleshoot billing or staff issues.
• Coordinate day-to-day functions for the assigned area and assist with coverage as needed.
• May transport patients using escort or wheeled transport equipment.
