Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of patient registration and insurance verification experience preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience preferred.
• Knowledge of HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid payors.
• Basic medical terminology.
• Excellent customer service.
• Strong MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient demographic information to support revenue cycle.
• Verify insurance benefits and correct payer for each plan.
• Obtain insurance authorizations as required.
• Assist in coordinating patient transfers to other hospitals.
• Provide excellent customer service at all times.
• Scan and file registration and medical records.
