• Per the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identity and insurance coverage and collects required demographic and financial information.
• Obtains authorizations/pre-certifications and required billing information from payer sources for services rendered.
• Collects deposits and co-pays; prepares billable documentation and jackets for billing.
• Interviews patients or representatives; assists in completion of forms and distributes documents to departments.
• Generates daily census data and supports hospital statistics reporting.
• Maintains courteous relations with patients, staff and the public; may perform other duties.
