AdventHealth in Hendersonville, NC is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to support Medicare compliance reviews, ABN processing, patient financial responsibilities, and payment plans. The role requires careful attention to insurance verification and pre-authorizations, with emphasis on accurate registration and HIPAA compliance.

Qualificações

• Mature judgment in dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs.
• Ability to operate general office machines and learn multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.
• Adheres to HIPAA and CMS guidelines and corporate policies.

Responsabilidades

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABNs when needed.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or sets up payment plans.
• Coordinates with utilization management for pre-authorization issues and shares necessary information with patients.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and secures pre-authorizations within timeframes.
• Registers patients for services and maintains accurate medical records, minimizing duplicates.
• Ensures coverage of assigned work areas during shifts and arranges relief as needed.
• Maintains strong communication between clinical, ancillary, and consumer access teams to enhance patient experience.
