Job summary

Kinston Community Health Center is seeking a Patient Service Representative to enter and verify confidential patient information, answer calls, register patients, schedule appointments, collect payments, and provide outstanding customer service.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent and 1-3 years in Medical Front Office; experience with MS Office and EHR is expected. Bilingual Spanish/English is a plus. Must be able to work nights and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associate degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in Medical Front Office preferred.
• Experience and/or training in billing and charge entry; or equivalent education/experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Suite and Electronic Health Records (EHR).
• Bilingual Spanish-English is a plus, with strong oral and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors professionally and provide assistance to those with special needs.
• Check in patients, verify demographic and insurance information, collect co-pays and payments, maintain logs.
• Assist patients with the Patient Assistance Program and sliding fee scale; process applications/renewals.
• Retrieve lab specimens and support transportation coordination as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; provide clear communication by phone and in person.
• Support enrollment applications for completeness and accuracy; participate in outreach and meetings.
