Methodist Health System’s Methodist Medical Group seeks a Patient Representative in Grand Prairie, TX. You will greet, instruct, and schedule patients, register them in the computer system, and determine insurance benefits.

Acts as liaison between patients and clinical support staff. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, strong communication skills, knowledge of medical terminology, and experience with medical management software; typing 40 wpm.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills with discretion.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and coding.
• Two years in a front office using medical management software preferred.
• Typing speed of 40 wpm.

Responsibilities

• Greets, instructs and schedules patients, registers patients into the computer system, and determines their insurance benefits.
• Serves as a liaison between patient and clinical support staff.
• Maintains confidentiality and adheres to policies.
• Checks-in patients and updates demographic/insurance information.
• Answers telephone, screens calls and conveys information to appropriate parties.
• Maintains reception area in neat and orderly manner.
• Input daily balance of charges and receipts as assigned.
