Job summary

NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, IL seeks a Patient Support Assistant to join our team. This full-time role supports front desk operations and coordinates with the clinical staff to move patients smoothly through visits.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of admin/customer service experience, a high school diploma, and familiarity with EPIC to schedule and register patients. We offer comprehensive benefits and competitive hourly pay.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1–2 years in administrative/customer service preferred.
• EPIC knowledge and experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage front desk and waiting area communications to move patients through visits.
• Answer department calls from patients, physicians, and other departments following NorthShore standards.
• Use EPIC to schedule and register patients for multiple providers/sites/services.
• Obtain prior authorization, records, and orders as needed for seamless arrivals.
• Familiarize yourself with physician preferences and practice protocols; inform Practice Manager of concerns.
• Provide other administrative support under Physicians and Practice Manager.
