Job summary

Carle Health in Urbana, IL is seeking a Registration Clerk to support patient admissions and billing processes. You will accurately complete registration and admitting forms, obtain signatures, verify insurance, and explain financial options while delivering exceptional patient service.

The role requires an associate degree or related experience, strong communication, and attention to detail. You will work with Nebo payer tools, assist in prior authorizations, and help ensure accurate charting

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or related field required or experience in lieu of education.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to explain and collect signatures for forms and consents.

Responsibilities

• Accurately explains and completes registration and admitting forms.
• Obtains signatures from patients; explains and obtains signatures for consents and notices.
• Communicates information clearly, concisely, and timely.
• Completes Medicare Secondary Payer (MSP) forms per laws.
• Verifies insurance eligibility using Nebo where possible.
• Performs prior authorizations for admissions/surgeries to ensure reimbursement.
• Maintains cash drawers and balances according to procedures.
• Registers patients at each visit and captures complete demographics.
• Reviews registration errors for quality improvement.
• Scans and files patient information for retrievability.
