Responsibilities

• Schedules patient visits accurately and in a timely manner.
• Pre-registration and registration duties with complete data collection.
• Obtain and verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and pre-certifications.
• Identify and collect patient balances; set up financial arrangements as needed.
• Provide financial counseling and refer to Halifax Health charity program when appropriate.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and records.
• Coordinate with departments and external payers as required for authorizations.
• Ensure documentation complies with HIPAA and EMTALA standards.
