Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or GED
• Associates Degree in a healthcare related field
• Five years of healthcare/medical office experience with at least one year in admitting/registration and insurance verification
• CHAA certification or willingness to obtain within 1 year
• Knowledge of EMTALA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission requirements
• Ability to understand/interpret healthcare benefits regulations
• Professionalism, flexibility, organization and sound judgment
• Knowledge of medical terminology

Aufgaben

• Acts as liaison for patients through their financial journey with providers and payers
• Achieves financial clearance and removes obstacles for services
• Obtains complete demographic information, insurance and eligibility, and enrollment resolution
• Identifies financial assistance options including Medicaid/HealthCare Exchange
• Coordinates bed reservations, admissions, and operating room procedures in line with clearance expectations
• Ensures compliance with applicable regulations (HIPAA, EMTALA, Joint Commission)

Ausbildung
