Job summary

The MetroHealth System in Cleveland, OH is seeking a Patient Admissions Specialist II (PASII) for 80 hrs biweekly evening and night shifts. You will support patients through their financial journey, coordinating with providers and payers to secure eligibility and appropriate coverage while ensuring accurate demographic data and insurance information.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED with an associates in a healthcare field and 5 years in healthcare/medical office, including admitting/registration and insurance verification.
• Knowledge of Federal/State rules governing benefits, Joint Commission regulations, EMTALA, and HIPAA.
• Professionalism, flexibility, organization, and sound judgment.
• Knowledge of Medical Terminology.

Responsibilities

• Act as liaison for patients, assisting financial clearance and enrollment resolution.
• Interview patients to determine eligibility for Medicaid, HealthCare Exchange, and financial assistance programs.
• Coordinate bed reservations, admissions, and operating room/hospital procedures with financial clearance.
• Uphold compliance with HIPAA, EMTALA, and Joint Commission requirements.
