Job summary

You will collect demographics, verify insurance, and explain hospital policies and patient rights to families. You will follow established scripts for verification, assist with financial clearance, and coordinate with physicians and clinics to keep patient information up to date.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a hospital Patient Registration department, physician office setting, healthcare insurance company, revenue cycle vendor, and/or other revenue cycle related roles.

Responsibilities

• Registration: Enter demographic information accurately into the ADT system at the time of registration.
• Verification, Authorization, and Compliance: Verify insurance benefits and determine coverage by contacting payers or using verification systems.
• Financial Processing and Assistance: Explain Payment and Billing Assistance Program and escalate accounts meeting financial clearance standards.
• Cashier procedures: Handle credit card transactions in accordance with PCI-DSS standards.
• Inventory handling: If required, inventory and store patient valuables following proper procedures.
• Coordinate with physician offices and clinical areas to update registration requirements and processes.
