Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking a detail-oriented professional to support revenue cycle operations and patient access. You will handle billing, collections, and payment processing while facilitating administrative and financial-clearance tasks for clinical services.

Responsibilities include coordinating referrals, verifying insurance, scheduling appointments, and aiding patients with insurance benefits and payment plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of related experience in insurance, managed care referral processes, private physician’s office practice or hospital registration setting.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; three years related experience in insurance or hospital registration.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates all incoming referrals for consultations from physician practices, hospitals, nursing homes and other facilities.
• Compiles clinical data and verifies insurance payor eligibility.
• Arranges and schedules consultation appointments with patients and reviews insurance coverage.
• Seeks and confirms patient financial responsibility and discusses payment options.
• Communicates with Social Work, Case Management, Billing, and Contracting to support the patient.
• Processes medical record requests and handles insurance referrals as needed.
