Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Patient access experience preferred (scheduling, registration and financial clearance).
• Insurance verification, billing or certified medical assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients arriving for their appointments and manages flow.
• Verifies and updates patient demographic and insurance information.
• Completes walk-in registrations and collects patient liabilities.
• Verifies benefits and collects out-of-pocket liability.
• Follows financial clearance policies for non-urgent services.
• Refers patients to Financial Counselor when needed.
• Handles visit closure and schedules follow-ups.
• Maintains knowledge of Medicare/Medicaid and payer requirements.
• Communicates issues to management and meets productivity targets.
• Maintains professional patient relations and collaborates across teams.
