Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Health Access Representative to professionally assist patients and customers, verify benefits, obtain referrals and authorizations, and ensure accurate registrations. The role requires healthcare experience, strong communication, and meticulous attention to insurance details.

The position supports coordinating with departments and physicians to secure financial reimbursement while maintaining high standards of customer service and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Six months Health Access Rep experience at Capital Health required; or one year in healthcare/customer service with medical terminology and basic computer skills.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to problem solve and multitask.
• Proficient computer skills; familiar with medical terminology and insurance plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients and customers with respect in a friendly manner.
• Perform verification of benefits and follow payer requirements for authorization and referrals.
• Register patients with accurate demographics, physician and insurance information, and obtain signatures.
• Identify non-participating plans and ensure in-network verification.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid procedures, co-pays, and charity screenings.
• Attend mandatory department meetings and support performance improvement initiatives.
