Job summary

Banner Health's Whole Health Clinic in Tucson is seeking an Enrollment and Eligibility Assistant to serve as the first point of contact for new patients, guiding them through AHCCCS, Tobacco Tax, and Sliding Fee programs with compassion and professionalism.

This role supports both front and back office operations, coordinating financial screenings and required Medicaid documentation to ensure our clinic runs efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Familiar with behavioral health resources and able to interact with individuals with various mental health needs.
• Experience communicating with diverse patient populations and guiding enrollment processes.

Responsibilities

• Answers, screens/forwards calls, provides information, and schedules appointments.
• Coordinate with the Crisis Response Center, medical providers, Behavioral Health Inpatient providers, law enforcement, courts, other Behavioral Health agencies, the RBHA, and other county, State, and applicable government agencies.
• Screens individuals requesting services for eligibility. Completes a Priority Population Screening tool for all persons requesting services.
• Maintains appropriate intake documentation requirements in accordance with agency and funding source requirements.
• Interviews clients for potential financial eligibility for multiple counties, State and Federal medical assistance programs to determine residency, household composition, income, assets and medical expenses such as AHCCCS, Food stamps, cash assistance, social security welfare and disability.
• Requests, researches, reviews and verifies personal documents and files to verify eligibility determination for relevant assistance.
• Verifies hospital admissions/discharges daily, transmits/receives relevant records, to ensure continuity of care.
• Completes all training required by licensing, agency, and funding source or as requested by supervisor and participates in individual and team clinical supervision.
• Has freedom to determine how best to accomplish functions within established procedures and best practices.
