Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics seeks a Patient Access Liaison to educate patients and caregivers on disease state, product information, and therapy access. You will build lasting relationships through in-person and virtual interactions and develop action plans to support patient advocacy.

You will ensure understanding of insurance coverage, provide administration education after coverage is established, and share resources to assist affordability. Travel up to 50% is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years in direct patient support.
  • Preferred: clinical/allied health licensure; 5+ years clinical experience in pediatrics/endocrinology/neurology/ENT/orthopedics or related.
  • 2+ years pharmaceutical industry experience.
  • Preferred: bilingual; experience with orphan/rare disease product launches; educating on injectable product administration.
  • Familiarity with HIPAA, FDA requirements, and OIG Compliance guidelines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively with cross-functional partners.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact for patients/caregivers: disease education, Ascendis products, and therapy access/administration questions.
  • Build and maintain relationships with patients/caregivers via in-person and virtual interactions.
  • Assess patient needs and create an action plan using approved resources to support patient/caregiver advocacy.
  • Provide individualized education on disease state and product using approved resources.
  • Educate patients on insurance coverage and the therapy access process.
  • Provide medication administration education once coverage is established.
  • Provide information on affordability resources as needed.
  • Manage long‑term relationships with patients and care teams via tailored communication plans.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional internal teams and partner with Patient Advocacy (including symposia).
  • Partner with Patient Safety/Pharmacovigilance and Complaint Management/Compliance to report AEs and product complaints.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations/standards.
  • Up to 50% travel (including overnight and some weekend travel), including visits to patient homes.
