Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a desk operations specialist (DOS) to support patient visits and coordinate scheduling within a multispecialty medical practice. The DOS prepares patients, verifies demographics and insurance, and communicates scheduling updates to the care team.

Strong customer service, organization, and multitasking are essential. The role requires the ability to navigate EHR systems, assist with patient flow, and adapt to varying departmental needs while maintaining excellent patient

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 2+ years of customer service experience.
• Associate's Degree preferred or required in some roles.
• Exposure to electronic health records is preferred; effectively multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient visits and supports health care providers.
• Coordinates appointment schedules and patient flow across a multispecialty practice.
• Obtains patient demographics and insurance details; informs patients of scheduling changes.
• Prepares orders and screens tests per guidelines; documents vitals.
• Navigates multiple electronic applications and devices; supports access and navigation activities.
