Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Desk Operations Specialist to support desk workflow efficiency and scheduling optimization. You will work with providers and the care team to enhance the use of EHR tools and related workflows.

Responsibilities include supervising daily activities, mentoring colleagues, and contributing to process improvements while showcasing strong communication and problem-solving skills. Full-time on-site role in Minnesota.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 1 year of experience in desk operations, healthcare or customer service, or an Associate’s Degree.
• Experience with Mayo Clinic EHR applications (Epic, Synthesis) and productivity tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Outlook).
• Ability to troubleshoot daily workflows in desk operations including registration/scheduling, check-in, rooming, checkout and non-visit care support.

Responsibilities

• Assist the desk operations team to optimize desk operations and scheduling efficiency.
• Provide oversight for daily activities as directed by the work unit supervisor or assistant supervisor.
• Collaborate with Desk Operations Specialists, providers and care team to optimize tools and workflows.
• Serve as SME in desk-related activities and contribute to process improvements.
• Mentor staff and participate in interviews for desk operations positions.
