Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Grand Blanc, Michigan is seeking a part-time Patient Access Registrar to perform accurate registration in the EMR, collect demographic and insurance information, and guide patients to the correct care setting.

You will greet customers, verify data, collect copays, and ensure compliance with hospital policies while maintaining professional, courteous service. Prior customer-service or health-care experience is preferred; EMR knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 1-year experience in a customer service role or health care industry required.
• Working knowledge of Windows, Excel, Word, Outlook and EMR systems preferred.
• Medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Accurately/registers patients in EMR with demographic and financial data.
• Greet customers promptly with a warm reception.
• Collects, documents, and scans required demographic and financial information.
• Directs patients to appropriate setting and explains delays as needed.
• Maintains professionalism and adheres to department standards.
• Estimates and collects copays, deductibles, and other patient financial obligations.
• Ensures compliance with hospital and department policies; supports Meaningful Use requirements.
• May facilitate use of electronic registration tools (e.g., tablets).
• Performs other duties as assigned by Management.
