Job summary

Ensemble is hiring an entry-level Patient Access Specialist to join our team at Bon Secours - St Mary's Hospital in Richmond, VA. The role handles admitting duties for all hospital services, with emphasis on accurate MRN creation, insurance verification, and patient instructions while upholding compliance.

Expect 1+ year of customer service experience and a willingness to embrace AI driven process improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1+ years of customer service experience.
• Must be inquisitive and open to innovation including AI to improve processes.
• CRCR certification required within 9 months of hire (Company Paid).

Responsibilities

• Assign accurate MRNs and complete medical necessity / compliance checks.
• Collect insurance information and process physician orders.
• Operate the telephone switchboard and relay calls while delivering excellent service.
• Adhere to policies and strive for outstanding customer service in all interactions.
• Support POS goals and quality auditing to ensure accurate, timely forms.
• Pre-register patient accounts and collect demographic, insurance and financial data.
• Explain consent forms and distribute patient education documents as required.
• Review eligibility responses and enter benefit data to support billing processes.
• Screen for medical necessity using ABN software and communicate potential non-payment to Medicare patients.
