WellMed, part of the Optum family, is seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator in Texas. The role supports efficient patient care through registration, verification, scheduling, and payment processing. Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills are essential.

Responsibilities include check-in/out, insurance tasks, cash handling, appointment scheduling, and medical record management. Prior healthcare office experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED (or higher).
• 1+ years of customer service experience with strong communication skills.
• Intermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft applications.
• TB screening and immunity proof for Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients upon arrival and manages standard wait times.
• Complete check-in/out with insurance verification and pre-authorizations.
• Collects co-pays/coinsurance, issues receipts, and handles deposits.
• Manages cashier box and daily deposits per policy.
• Processes walk-in patients and visitors; answers phones; schedules appointments.
• Maintains medical records and ensures proper filing and release requests.
• Establishes positive relationships with patients, staff and the public.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
