Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Associate Patient Care Coordinator (WellMed) to greet patients, collect payments, and support intake and scheduling at our Duncanville, TX location. This role emphasizes accurate recordkeeping, efficient patient flow, and responsive service in a busy health-care setting.

The position offers full benefits and opportunities for training, with a schedule Monday–Friday 8am–5pm CST and potential travel for training as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • 1+ years of customer service experience.
  • Strong communication skills in person and via phone.
  • MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and manage 20-minute wait times.
  • Assist patient with intake processes including copying required documents.
  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles and issue receipts.
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors.
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments.
  • Manage medical records (maintains, files / scans, prepares for schedule).
  • Ensure all correspondence is scanned and/or filed in a timely manner.
  • Process requests for medical records release and maintain logs.

The Associate Patient Care Coordinator (WellMed) is responsible for greeting patients and collecting, recording, and balancing payments.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm CST. Hours during training may vary.

Location: 544 E Wheatland Rd, Duncanville, TX. May be required to travel to Irving location for training.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients as they arrive and manages 20-minute wait time
  • Assist patient with intake processes including copying required documents
  • Collect co-payments, co-insurance and deductibles and issues receipts
  • Process walk-in patients and visitors
  • Answer phones and schedule appointments
  • Manage medical records (maintains, files / scans, prepares for schedule)

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 1+ years of experience in customer service with strong communication skills both in person and via phone
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare or medical office experience
  • 1+ years of experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $29.00 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
