Job summary

Knight Cancer Institute - Community Hematology and Oncology in Gresham is seeking a Patient Access Resource Specialist (PASR) to join our team on-site. This role handles patient intake, scheduling, and authorization coordination, ensuring accurate data in the EMR and excellent service for patients and providers.

The PASR will liaise with physicians, nursing staff, referral sources, and insurers, managing high-volume appointments and inquiries with professional communication and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • One year of experience in a medical office setting with high-volume patient contact, scheduling, and may require managing authorizations.
  • 1.5 years of work in a high-volume direct public contact role with knowledge of PAS policies is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gathers and verifies patient demographics, insurance coverage, and financial status.
  • Obtains authorizations for clinical care, procedures, and labs.
  • Schedules high-volume, complex patient appointments and coordinates care.
  • Answers incoming calls, triages to clinical teams, and directs patients to providers.
  • Enters patient information accurately into the EMR.
  • Provides exceptional customer service to patients and internal customers.
