Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Six months of office or call center, customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited medical receptionist program, or two years in a health care setting preferred.
• AHA Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and assist patients through registration and scheduling.
• Collect demographic information and enter it into the system.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations or referrals.
• Explain insurance benefits and patients' financial responsibilities.
• Collect co-pays and balances according to hospital policy.
• Assist patients with the online patient portal and maintain HIPAA compliance.
