Qualifications

• Six months of office and/or call center, customer service or healthcare experience preferred.
• Knowledge of computers and other standard office equipment required.
• Proficiency in data entry preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited medical receptionist or similar program, or two years in a health care setting preferred.
• American Heart Association, Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment for patients and assist with initial healthcare processes.
• Collect accurate demographic information and enter it into the system.
• Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations or referrals as needed.
• Explain benefits and financial responsibilities to patients and collect payments.
• Assist patients with the online portal and maintain HIPAA compliance.
