Job summary

The Jane Pauley Community Health Center, Inc is seeking a Patient Service Representative to serve as the first point of contact for patients across JPCHC's network in Indiana. This float position supports scheduling, registration, insurance verification, and payment collection while ensuring a welcoming experience for all patients.

The role requires strong communication, knowledge of medical office practices, and the ability to travel between practice sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of medical office practices required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• At least two years of experience in an ambulatory healthcare setting preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel between practice sites as needed.
• Basic computer literacy and data entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and families in a professional and friendly manner
• Schedule patient appointments and manage inbound calls (answered by third ring)
• Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information in the EHR
• Determine patient eligibility for financial assistance programs and obtain required documentation
• Collect patient co-payments and follow JPCHC’s money handling procedures
• Assist with medical record requests, correspondence, and message response within one business day
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the patient waiting area
• Participate in departmental and organizational meetings
• Perform other duties as assigned
