Job summary

The Jane Pauley Community Health Center in Indiana seeks a Patient Service Representative to be the first point of contact for patients, handling scheduling, registration, and insurance verification across the JPCHC network.

This float position requires reliable transportation and flexibility to support multiple practice sites while maintaining a warm, welcoming patient experience. You will contribute to accessible, inclusive care across underserved communities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Knowledge of medical office practices required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• At least two years of ambulatory healthcare experience preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel between practice sites as needed.
• Basic computer literacy and data-entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Greet and assist patients and families in a professional and friendly manner.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage inbound calls.
• Collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information in the EHR.
• Determine patient eligibility for financial assistance programs and obtain required documentation.
• Collect patient co-payments and follow JPCHC's money handling procedures.
• Assist with medical record requests, correspondence, and message response within one business day.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the patient waiting area.
• Provide coverage across JPCHC locations during staffing shortages.
• Participate in departmental and organizational meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
