Job summary

AdventHealth in Ocala, FL is hiring for a full-time Patient Access Specialist. The role focuses on Medicare compliance reviews, generating accurate patient financial estimates, collecting payments, and coordinating with insurance providers for pre-authorizations.

You will register patients, verify demographics and insurance, and ensure smooth front-desk operations. Responsibilities include coordinating with clinical teams, maintaining accurate records, and providing excellent customer service

Qualifications

Mature judgement when dealing with patients, physicians, and insurance representatives.
Working knowledge of Microsoft programs and familiarity with database programs.
Ability to operate office machines and learn multiple tasks efficiently.
Adheres to CMS, EMTALA, HIPAA and corporate policies.

Responsibilities

Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABNs as needed.
Creates estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments.
Coordinates with utilization management for pre-authorization issues.
Verifies eligibility and benefits with insurance companies and obtains pre-authorizations.
Registers patients for services and ensures accurate medical records.
Provides coverage for PBX and performs cashiering functions.
