Job summary

You will handle payments, schedule visits, and maintain confidentiality while delivering outstanding service. Minimum two years in customer service is required; college or vocational training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of customer service experience.
• College or vocational training preferred.
• Typing 30–40 wpm preferred.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and payer processes preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and collects complete and accurate financial and insurance information.
• Verifies required authorizations as needed.
• Answers telephone and routes calls to appropriate party.
• Acts as liaison between the facility, physician, insurance company and other healthcare agencies.
• Handles collections of monies from patients at registration.
• Schedules patient appointments and procedures.
• Verifies pain management benefits and insurance coverage; obtains authorization for visits/procedures.
• Capable of supervising in absence of office manager.
• Delivers excellent customer service.
