Job summary

AdventHealth in Shawnee Mission, Kansas is seeking an Evening Billing Specialist to support patient access and revenue cycle operations. This role focuses on Medicare compliance reviews, estimating patient financial responsibility, and coordinating with insurance providers.

You will work Monday–Friday evenings, 2:30pm–11:00pm, and contribute to accurate patient registration, billing, and payment processing while maintaining HIPAA compliance and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare revenue cycle and patient access/billing preferred.
• Knowledge of Medicare compliance and pre-authorization processes is desirable.
• Proficiency in documenting conversations and payer decisions.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABNs as needed.
• Creates estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments or sets up plans.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and obtains pre-authorizations within established timeframes.
