Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Washington state is seeking a part-time Patient Access and Registration Specialist to support EPIC Practice Management. You will answer calls, register patients, verify demographics and payor coverage, schedule appointments, and obtain prior authorizations as needed.

You will also manage patient accounts, communicate billing information, assist with cash handling, and act as a liaison to Patient Financial Services. Strong customer service and HIPAA compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in a business office in medical care or large contact center environment or two years of excellent customer service in a fast-paced setting.
• Experience requirements per union agreement are waived for KP Coalition employees.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and perform appointment making processes; complete accurate patient registration with demographics and payor coverage; manage check-in/check-out and scheduling.
• Obtain prior authorization for services; process items in patient, claim edit and charge review work queues; liaise with Patient Financial Services and Health Plan.
• Process refunds and perform cash handling; daily cash reconciliation and deposit preparation; assist with billing questions for patients.
• Adhere to HIPAA and patient confidentiality; provide fee estimates to patients; act as liaison to various internal teams.
