Qualifications

• High school graduation or equivalent is required.
• Six (6) months experience in hospital/physician setting preferred.
• Billing experience and contract knowledge preferred.
• One year of experience in a similar occupation and basic medical terminology and ICD 9 coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients to obtain accurate and complete patient demographic and insurance information for admission and registration.
• Communicates with privately paying patients about service charges and assists with payment arrangements.
• Collects copays, coinsurance and other monies owed by patients and collects required admission forms as needed.
