Job summary

Premier Medical Resources in Houston, TX is seeking a full-time Patient Accounts Specialist to manage and monitor patient accounts after insurance claims are finalized.

You will analyze accounts, resolve billing discrepancies, post payments daily, and communicate with patients about their financial responsibility, while upholding HIPAA and company policies.

Prior hospital billing experience is preferred; a High School diploma is required; the role offers comprehensive benefits and career growth.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year billing/collections experience in a hospital setting.

Responsibilities

• Review accounts to determine patient responsibilities and balances.
• Contact patients with past-due balances to facilitate payment.
• Collaborate with internal/external parties to resolve account discrepancies.
• Interpret policies and provide guidance to staff and patients.
• Post patient payments daily to reflect current balances.
• Process refund requests per contracts and laws.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance for patient records.
• Communicate professionally to maintain positive patient relations.
• Handle inbound/outbound calls; resolve inquiries.
• Support Account Recovery Team to meet goals.
• Perform other related tasks as needed.
