Job summary

Planned Parenthood Pasadena and San Gabriel Valley (PPPSGV) seeks a Front Office Specialist to be the face of our health centers. You will register patients, verify eligibility, and capture demographic information in the practice management system, coordinating with staff to ensure high-quality care and maximum reimbursement from third-party payers across all centers.

You will greet patients, collect co-pays, identify insurance providers, schedule appointments, and ensure HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• Insurance knowledge and charge entry experience highly preferred.
• One to two years customer service experience in health care, medical or social services setting.
• Strong listening and interpersonal skills; multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Register/Check-in patients, greet and assist in a professional manner.
• Accurately collect and enter demographic information; assess fee category for sliding scale.
• Identify patient insurance plan or provider group and input third-party payer data.
• Manage co-pays and deductibles on the date of service; schedule appointments.
• Comply with HIPAA and privacy policies; maintain confidentiality.
• Enter charges in EPM/EMR on the day of visit; run end-of-day reports as directed.
