Job summary

Advocate Health in North Carolina seeks a part-time Patient Access/Financial Clearance specialist to support the Enterprise Revenue Cycle team (Wake Forest Davie NC). This PRN role handles registration, insurance verification, and billing tasks with 8 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in patient access, scheduling, registration or financial clearance preferred.
• Ability to understand Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA rules and insurance terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and manages efficient patient flow.
• Completes registration and verifies patient demographics and insurance.
• Verifies benefits and collects estimated balances or past due amounts.
• Follows Financial Clearance policies for non-urgent services.
• Identifies patients needing financial assistance and refers to Financial Counselor.
• Completes visit closure and schedules follow-ups.
• Maintains knowledge of payer requirements and pre-authorization rules.
• Proactively communicates issues to management and meets productivity goals.
• Supports accurate data entry and customer service excellence.
• Works collaboratively to ensure timely information flow.
