Job summary

ECU Health is a health system seeking a patient access representative to handle patient registration and insurance benefits interpretation. This role requires maintaining medical terminology skills within a busy, multi-site healthcare environment.

The successful candidate will manage patient and customer relations, ensure accurate registration and billing practices, and perform other duties as assigned. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 to 5, in Roanoke Rapids, NC.

Qualifications

• High School or equivalent (GED) or higher is required.
• Associate Degree: preferred
• Bachelor Degree: preferred
• 2 years Customer Service is required
• 1 to 2 years of Registration and/or Billing experience within a healthcare setting is preferred.
• Excellent communication (both written and oral), detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills required.
• Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

• Performs patient registration.
• Provides insurance benefits interpretation and counseling.
• Maintains medical terminology skills and knowledge of third party payer regulations.
• Performs patient and customer relations.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
