Job summary

ECU Health Physicians in eastern North Carolina is seeking a patient registration specialist. You will register patients, interpret insurance benefits, and counsel on payer regulations while maintaining medical terminology accuracy.

The role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM, with a 40-hour workweek. A high school diploma or GED is required, and 2 years of customer service plus 1–2 years of registration/billing in healthcare are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2 years of customer service experience required.
• 1-2 years of registration and/or billing experience in healthcare preferred.
• Excellent communication, detail orientation, organization, and multitasking skills required.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient registration.
• Provides insurance benefits interpretation and counseling.
• Maintains medical terminology skills and knowledge of third party payer regulations.
• Performs patient and customer relations.
• Completes other duties as assigned.
