Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Patient Access professional to manage scheduling, preregistration, and financial clearance while representing AHN to patients and families. You will verify benefits, explain financial responsibilities, assist with authorization and referrals to ensure accurate billing and a positive patient experience.

You will contribute to productive operations, adhere to policies, and support team members in resolving patient issues in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Two years of related experience in medical, financial services, and/or customer service.
• Experience operating a PC and using software applications.
• Preferred certifications: HFMA or CRR.
• Call/Service Center experience.

Responsibilities

• Conducts scheduling, preregistration, validates patient data and insurance.
• Verifies insurance information and handles authorization/referral requirements.
• Identifies patient financial responsibilities, estimates and collects liabilities.
• Delivers a positive patient experience and maintains relations with patients and providers.
• Adheres to policies and participates in mandatory training.
• Communicates barriers and assists in resolving patient issues.
