Job summary

New Season seeks a Patient Access Coordinator I to support front-end revenue cycle operations. You will obtain authorizations and referrals, communicate with payers and clinical teams, and ensure compliant processes to enhance patient access and clinic workflow.

The role emphasizes accuracy, HIPAA privacy, and collaboration across departments to reduce denials and improve patient experience.

Qualifications

• Experience Required: 2+ years in healthcare third party insurance verification and authorizations.
• Education: High School Diploma or GED; CPC/CPC-A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and process authorizations and referrals from third-party payers to ensure compliance.
• Communicate benefits, authorizations, and referrals with payers and clinical partners.
• Act as liaison between patients, clinical teams and payers to resolve issues.
• Ensure submission of clean claims and reduce payer denials per policies.
• Assist with special projects using Excel/Google Sheets and report results.
• Protect PHI in accordance with HIPAA standards.
• Provide coverage for sites without a Patient Registration Coordinator and verify insurance.
