Job summary

Trinity Health IHA Medical Group in Michigan is hiring an Authorization Specialist to manage the authorization/pre-certification or referral process. You will contact insurance companies, verify codes, collect data, and ensure timely referrals align with patient treatment plans.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma and 1-2 years of relevant medical office experience with prior authorization or referrals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.

Responsibilities

• Contact insurance companies and obtain authorizations.
• Verifies correct procedural and diagnostic codes and insurance verification
• Performs data collection and data review as required
• Obtains urgent authorizations same day and next day.
• Communicates referral status to patients, staff and physicians; ensures that referrals have been processed accurately and in a timely manner to coincide with patient treatment plan.
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient records.
