Job summary

Optum, in strategic partnership with Allina Health, seeks a Patient Access Representative Associate in New Ulm, MN. The role greets patients, collects demographics and insurance details, and guides them through registration and scheduling, with emphasis on accurate data entry and customer service.

The position requires 6+ months of customer service, proficiency in MS Office, and the ability to work 9:00am–5:30pm, Monday–Friday. A $1500 sign-on bonus is available to external applicants.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of customer service experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to work standard daytime hours, Mon-Fri for the first 3 weeks after hire in alignment with the training schedule.
• Ability to work 9:00am - 5:30pm Monday - Friday.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Greets and welcomes patient in person.
• Collects demographic and insurance information.
• Checks in and interviews patients to complete appropriate paperwork.
• Directs patient to their appointment or procedure.
• May assist in scheduling add-on appointments.
• Documents issues and resolutions in electronic medical record.
• Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits information for payers.
• Obtains cost information and explains information to patient if necessary.
• Collects co-pay or deductibles and responds to questions regarding financial assistance programs.
