Job summary

Inova Orthopedics - Springfield is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Associate 1 for a full-time day shift, Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day (7:30a–4:00p). The role may float to the Woodbridge location to cover PTO, supporting patient access workflows.

The position emphasizes insurance verification, scheduling, and patient coordination, with opportunities within a nationally recognized health system and a strong emphasis on team collaboration and service quality.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience: 1 year of customer service or 1 year in a medical setting (Associates degree in lieu of experience).

Responsibilities

• Works independently to complete assignments with minimal supervision and improves workflow.
• Explains insurance benefits and patient liability clearly.
• Obtains and validates insurance information using online payer verification systems.
• Coordinates with other departments to assist patients and document required information.
• Educates patients on applications for alternative sources of payment and financial assistance.
• Communicates scheduling changes to patients, staff, physicians, and patient representatives in a timely manner.
