Inova Orthopedics - Springfield is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Associate 1 for a full-time day shift (Mon-Fri, 8-hour shifts). The role may float to Woodbridge to cover PTO and requires independently completing assignments, verifying insurance, and guiding patients through financial processes.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of customer service or medical setting experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to explain benefits and patient liability.

Qualifications

• 1 year of customer service or 1 year in a medical setting (associates degree in lieu of experience).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to explain insurance benefits and patient liability.

Responsibilities

• Works independently to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
• Explains insurance benefits and patient liability clearly.
• Obtains and validates insurance information.
• Coordinates with departments to assist patients and document required medical, financial, demographic and insurance information.
• Educates patients on alternative sources of payment for healthcare services including medical assistance programs, loans and grants.
• Communicates scheduling changes to patients, staff, physicians and patient representatives in a timely and professional manner.
