Job summary

Texas Health Alliance in Fort Worth, TX seeks a PRN Customer Service/Access Associate to support patient intake, verify demographics, and assist with benefits and pre-certifications. You will educate patients, collect balances, and maintain accurate records in the Epic system.

The position requires 1 year of customer service and preferred two years in healthcare settings, with strong communication, empathy, and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
• 1 Year Relevant Customer Service experience required.
• 2 Years Professional office/healthcare experience preferred.
• CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire preferred.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training maintained annually 90 days required.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and families upon arrival, setting a calm tone for the visit.
• Gather complete demographic information to ensure EHR integrity.
• Identify correct network coverage and obtain/validate benefits and pre-certification to maximize reimbursement.
• Educate patients about applicable regulatory documents and obtain signed consent.
• Explain financial obligations and prepare estimates for co-pays, self-pay deposits, and balances.
• Ensure MSPQ, IMM, ABN and Non-Coverage checks are completed correctly.
• Stay up to date with regulations and maintain policies.
• Maintain Epic queue and personal Employee Scorecard Dashboard.
• Communicate insurance plans and potential financial implications to patients.
