Qualifications

• Previous office/clerical experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of and skill in customer service, oral communication, and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and directs them to the appropriate area.
• Interviews patients and collects demographic and insurance information.
• Verifies insurance coverage for primary, secondary, and tertiary plans.
• Uses insurance eligibility programs and payor websites to determine eligibility.
• Registers patients in KPHealthConnect and maintains accurate records.
• Balances cash, check, and credit card payments; issues receipts.
• Answers phone calls and routes to the correct department.
• Prepares admitting forms and explains procedures to patients.
• Coordinates with nursing and medical staff for admissions and census.
• Provides patient information to physicians, relatives and visitors.
